LETBOND® 2200 Series Pre-applied Threadlockers & Sealants

Description

The LETBOND® 2200 Series consists of professional-grade, pre-applied coating materials designed for thread locking and sealing. These products are applied to fastener threads and dried to form a dormant film. Upon assembly, the mechanical shearing force breaks the film to release active ingredients, which then cure into a tough, heat-resistant, and chemically stable thermoset plastic. This process ensures long-term anti-loosening, superior sealing, and high vibration resistance.

Additionally, the series includes Aqueous Polyurethane types (8183, 8483), which offer reusability and require no baking, making them ideal for piping systems and fluid/gas sealing requirements.

Features

  • Pre-applied Efficiency: Fasteners can be coated and dried in advance, allowing for immediate “dry-to-the-touch” assembly without the need for on-site liquid adhesive application.
  • High-Performance Locking & Sealing: Effectively prevents thread loosening and leakage caused by vibration, thermal cycling, or pressure fluctuations.
  • Excellent Environmental Adaptability: Operating temperatures reach up to +200°C (Model 2201), with outstanding resistance to various chemical media and industrial oils.
  • Reusability (8183/8483): Polyurethane-based models allow for parts to be disassembled and reassembled up to 8 times while maintaining a reliable seal.
  • Optimized for Automation: Perfectly suited for automated bolt feeding, coating, and high-volume drying production lines.
  • Corrosion Protection: Provides a protective barrier that reduces the risk of thread rusting during long-term storage or service.

Applications

General Purpose & Mechanical Locking

  • 2200 / 2202 (Temp Range: -54°C to +150°C): Universal grades used for carburetor screws, transmission nuts, head screws, axle bolts, and cylinder head bolts. Also ideal for sealing pipe plugs and gearbox components. 2202 is distinguished by its green paste appearance but shares similar performance traits with 2200.

High Temperature & High Stress

  • 2201 (Temp Range: -54°C to +200°C): A high-strength, heat-resistant grade designed for ring gear bolts, crankshafts, cylinder heads, and transmission bolts. Provides superior torque retention under extreme thermal stress.

High Vibration & Mass Production

  • 2204 (High Strength, Pink Type, -54°C to +150°C): Targeted at industrial screws requiring maximum vibration resistance. Offers enhanced durability and anti-corrosion properties, optimized for automated assembly line integration.

Aqueous Polyurethane (Fluid & Gas Sealing)

  • 8183 (Blue Aqueous Type, -54°C to +149°C): A polyurethane-based sealant ideal for gas/liquid pipelines and valve threads. Supports up to 8 reassemblies, requires no baking, and is widely used in LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) systems.
  • 8483 (White Aqueous Type, -54°C to +138°C): Shares the same core performance as 8183 but features a white gel appearance, making it ideal for applications requiring color coding for quality inspection or specific aesthetic requirements.
