LETBOND® 2200 Series Threadlocking Adhesives

Description

The LETBOND® 2200 Series is a high-performance, single-component acrylic anaerobic adhesive specifically designed for the permanent fastening and efficient sealing of threaded fasteners. These adhesives cure rapidly when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. Once cured, they create a robust bond that effectively prevents loosening, leakage, and corrosion caused by vibration and shock.

Whether you require low-strength formulas for easy disassembly or high-strength, high-temperature resistant grades for heavy-duty applications, the 2200 Series offers a comprehensive range of solutions to meet diverse industrial needs.

Features

  • Advanced Anaerobic Curing: Reacts quickly in the absence of oxygen within metal interfaces. Initial fixture time ranges from 10 to 40 minutes, reaching full cure at room temperature within 6 to 24 hours (curing can be accelerated with primers).
  • Comprehensive Strength Grades: Available in low, medium, high, and medium-high strength specifications to accommodate everything from small precision screws to heavy-duty industrial bolts.
  • Versatile Viscosity Range: Options range from 20 to 8,000 cps, including low-viscosity wicking types for post-assembly sealing and high-viscosity types for superior gap filling and impact resistance.
  • Thermal & Chemical Stability: Selected grades withstand extreme temperatures up to 230°C. The series exhibits excellent resistance to oil, water, and a wide array of industrial chemicals.
  • Wide Material Compatibility: Suitable for use on steel, plated surfaces, stainless steel, and inactive metals. Specialized formulas (such as 2276) are engineered to perform effectively even on oil-contaminated surfaces.

Applications

The LETBOND® 2200 Series offers specialized formulations tailored to specific industrial requirements :

  • Precision Instruments & Electronics: Ideal for small screw fastening and vibration resistance where easy disassembly is required (Low Strength: 2222).
  • Plated or Passive Metal Surfaces: Medium-strength locking for chrome, galvanized, or low-reactivity metal fasteners (2242 / 2243).
  • High-Vibration Heavy Equipment: High-strength bonding for large-diameter bolts subject to intense shock and structural stress (2262 / 2271).
  • Extreme Thermal Environments: Specialized sealing and locking for large bolts in high-temperature operating conditions (2272).
  • Contaminated or Inactive Substrates: Engineered for rapid curing on oily surfaces or non-active metal bases (2276).
  • Heavy Machinery & Motor Housings: Maximum-strength assembly for permanent fixtures and high-torque load transmission (2277).
  • Wicking & Porosity Sealing: Ultra-low viscosity for penetrating pre-assembled fasteners, sealing weld porosities, or repairing metal castings (2290).
